The Top 5 Planners of 2020
Some of you are about to think I’m really lame, possibly nerdy. Some of you will totally get me and realize we’re long lost sisters, separated at birth. So here it goes…. I am a planning fanatic. Like I looooove to plan stuff using planners, calendars, markers, Google calendars- you catch my drift.
Ergo, something I either buy myself or ask for every year is a planner. I do a lot of research, and I try to find the best one that fits the season of life I’m in. Some years, I buy a really intense, heavy duty planner, and other years I back off a little and buy a really simple one. It really just depends on what I’m expecting from the year. This year, I used a simpler planner because I had a baby in March and wanted to simply focus on recovering. This year, I’m ready to amp up my schedule a little and add a few more activities. Sometimes I think I’m fanatical, but then I just brush that negativity away.
As a wife and mama, I’m looking to do a lot of things with my planner. I meal plan, schedule events, help at church, book appointments, etc. I get a lot of milage out of this thing, and I spare no expense.
I love planners because they help me dream. My brain is almost always going with about ten tabs open, so a good planner helps me organize my thoughts and make my dreams a reality. It helps me organize events, it helps my family to function better on a daily basis, and it gives me confidence that I haven’t forgotten something.
There are a few things I really wanted out of it this year. Among the top of my must haves, I wanted it to have an hourly schedule for each day (some days I really need that, and it helps me see if everything can realistically fit into a day or week), a place for goals, a section for meal plans, a place to track Bible reading, and a pocket for loose papers. Based on this criteria, I’ve listed my top picks for 2020 planners (side, unrelated note: how is it 2020? I graduated high school in 2008 and remember thinking 2020 was just never going to happen. And yet, here we are.).
Please keep in mind that I am a wife and a mama to two littles, and I help out quite a bit at our church. I have chosen these planners according to my season of life. A planner is a unique thing for each individual, and what works for me might not be your cup of tea. Do your research, and see which planner will work best for your season of life! Also, keep your eye out for some great deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. So many great discounts are swarming on things you may want to buy for yourself and subtly place in your cart so your husband can buy it for you for Christmas (I know you do it, too, Judgy McJudgerson).
So, without further ado, I give you the top planners for the year 2020:
5. The Passion Planner-
I am a goal setter. I love to write down goals and track my progress throughout the year. I’m a dreamer, and a good planner helps turn those dreams into a reality. If you’re really trying to reach a goal this year, the Passion Planner focuses in on just that. This planner begins by helping you lay out your goals, and it has a space for you to write down your focus for each week. This planner is laid out weekly, tracks hourly events, and has lists for both personal and work tasks. It also has a place for “good things that happened this week” (I’d probably use this to write praises/prayer requests) as well as a space to brainstorm. This planner comes in three different sizes as well as in a variety of colors.
4. Time Warp Wife–
This planner had a few features that the rest of them did not. First off, it’s spiral bound, which is a huge plus for me. It allows you to write in your planner with no crease in the center. It has a checklist for Old and New Testament chapter reading so you can keep track of what you’ve read, and it has a place for prayer requests. It also has a place for monthly goals, how well you achieved those goals, and a routine list. On the weekly pages, there’s a few lines dedicated to each day, and on either side of the week there is a list for groceries and a meal planning section. The back has a nice list of tips for good housekeeping, keeping routines, and old-time cleaning remidies. To see a full walk through of the planner, watch the video here.

3. Mole Skin 12 Month Pro Weekly Vertical Planner
I have loved and used this planner for the whole year of 2019. This planner is sleek, very professional, and easily fits in a diaper bag. One of the reasons I bought this planner is because I love Moleskine and have never bought a bad product from them. Their notebooks are well made and are high quality. The second reason I bought this planner is because it offers a blank page along with a space to make a check list after each week. This allowed me to meal plan, write down projects, or just brain dump for the week and be able to find all my thoughts in one localized spot without having to use a second notebook. Among other features, this planner also has a space for monthly goals, a page for travel plans, and a pocket in the back.

2. Corie Clark: 2020 Purposeful Planner-Daily
I have loved and adored this planner from afar for years. Also spiral bound, this planner is well made and has reinforced corners for that rough wear and tear. The cover is a beautiful white marble print, and the inside cover is a lovely pink. This planner is very well set up for those who love checklists. The daily pages include a space to plan hourly, track water intake, brain dump, shopping list, menu, and a place for praises. This is a planner made for setting goals, and it discusses goals in the first few pages. Among other things, this planner has a space for writing goals, your bucket list, monthly budget, and monthly meal plan.
Cost: $58
Of all the planners, this one is my favorite. It has a ton of cool features, and it’s very customizable if you buy it straight from the Erin Condren website. This coiled planner has a front cover that you can easily swap out and change during the year for different seasons, and these covers are laminated with your name printed on it. Tabs make it easy to find your current month, and it has a nice big space for yearly goals. Before each month, there is a space for goals, birthdays, and notes. An extra bonus is that when you order the planner, you have the option of choosing how you want your weekly pages set up. You can either have it set up hourly, horizontally, or vertically, and at the bottom, there are three small lines that I plan to use for meal planning. If you’re artsy, you’ll be intrigued to know that the back has a pocket and some stickers, and you can even subscribe to the sticker of the month club. All that aside, one of my favorite features is that it has a space to insert dates for 2021. I hate it when I need to write something important down but don’t yet have a calendar for the next year. I’ve asked my brother probably five times now what date his wedding is because I have no where to write it. Definitely a great feature! And if all that isn’t enough, the site sells tons of extras that you can add on including extra pages for meal planning, budgeting, and checklists.
I’m going to fully disclaim that the actual Erin Condren website does this planner no justice. This walkthrough done by Marissa completely sold me. Click here to watch.

Closing Thoughts
I plan to buy the Erin Condren planner this year and couldn’t be more excited! This planner has the space I need and so many fun features. Why let a necessary task be dull when you have the option to make it all jazzy and such?
